About The Event
Do you have a nice camera but don’t know how to do more than take basic snapshots? Do you find postcard-perfect scenes transform into unimpressive blurs on your camera screen? The Melbourne at Night Workshop will teach you the finer points of composition and lighting as well as giving you the chance to practice by shooting the famous highlights of Melbourne. We will show you how to capture the sights that your eyes actually see!
Have you been simply setting your DSLR on automatic and snapping away? Then, it’s time to unlock its true potential. As you walk through the streets of Melbourne, put your camera on the manual setting, and manipulate the f-stop dial to allow in more or less light, creating interesting effects and altering the mood of your shots.
Are you familiar with the rule of thirds and the concept of leading lines? Jacqui B Photography will explain it all, giving you tips about taking artfully composed photographs, and providing ideas for that perfect photograph.
A tripod is a necessity for this class. If you do not have one, please let me know and we will supply you with one.
Charge up your battery, and bring along an empty memory card. We will be creating amazing long exposures and visiting Hosier Lane.
Since Federation Square is under quite a bit of construction at the moment, I have decided to move our normal meeting point. If you walk behind the Taxi lounge towards Princes bridge, I will be waiting close to the bridge at 46-51 Princes Walk and St Kilda Road.
